            Admission for the Ph.D.

Thirty-six applications were received for admission to the Ph.D. programme for the year 2006. Short listed candidates were called for presentation and interview.  The Admission Committee of the Indian Law Institute finalised the admission of the following three candidates for Ph.D. on the basis of the presentation and interview:

Supplementary Examination – 2006 

The supplementary examination of all Diploma/ PG Diploma Courses was held on Friday, the 13th October 2006 from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. The result of the supplementary examination was declared on 7.11.2006.    

1st and 3rd Semester LL.M.  Examination - 2006 

1st Semester and 3rd Semester students of LL.M. programme had their research paper presentation on 2nd December 2006. The end semester examination for both 1st and 3rd Semester students of the LL.M. Programme was conducted from 8th December 2006 to 20th December 2006. 

            Online Certificate Course on Intellectual Property Rights 

The Sixth batch of ILI Online Certificate Course of three months duration on “Intellectual Property Rights and Information Technology in the Internet Age ” commenced w.e.f. 17th July 2006 and completed on 16th October 2006. 232 students were enrolled for the sixth batch. Their result was declared on 15th November. The Course for the seventh batch, wherein 161 students are enrolled, commenced on 1st November 2006. Details are available at www.ilidelhi.org. 

Felicitation

Once again it is heartening to note that Shri Milon K. Banerji, Attorney General for India and Vice President of ILI has been conferred the Honorary Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn in London.  He thus joins an exceptional club of the late Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma and Mr. Hidayatullah, former President and Vice President of India respectively.  The Indian Law Institute congratulates him.

            Special Lectures to LL.M. Students 

§        Prof. V.B. Coutinho, former Vice Chancellor, Gulbarga University delivered a series of ten lectures from October 2006 on ‘Shipping and Maritime Law’. 

§        Hon’ble Mr. Justice Madan Lokur, Judge, Delhi High Court delivered a series of lectures on the topic ‘Judicial Administration’ on every Monday starting from August 2006. 

§        Hon’ble Mr. Justice G.C. Bharuka, Former Judge, Karnataka High Court delivered few lectures on ‘Court Management, IT Application and E-Governance in Judicial Administration’ during September - October, 2006. 

§        Capt. A.K. Bansal from Chennai delivered lecture on 11th November 2006 on Shipping and Maritime Law.
